The Balanced Scorecard approach to performance management suggests that you identify "leading indicators" of bottom-line results, and manage those to meet objectives. Identifying ways to improve customer and employee satisfaction, for example, can drive sales and therefore profit. I created this map in PowerPoint, after facilitating the management team to identify the measures they'd use and what action plans would drive results.
